Ross Gunn took a GT3 podium position at the second round of the 2016 British GT Championship at the Rockingham Motor speedway.
Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn had another competitive showing in the Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3, clinching their first podium of the season. Howard was on the receiving end of contact on the first lap that pushed him into the midfield from his second row start, but recovered to hand the #1 car to Gunn in fifth. Gunn was able chase down the competitors ahead, eventually finished a close third.
Ross Gunn “We scored some great points today! The pace in the race was competitive. Our performance was encouraging considering this is one of our weakest circuits. Andrew did well to recover from the earlier contact, and I was happy to be challenging the guys in front at the end.”
Andrew Howard “It’s always disappointing to have a damaged car so early in a race, I still don’t understand why people feel they can win a race in the first few corners. The car was difficult to drive but stable enough to maintain a midfield pace.”
British GT returns to the picturesque Oulton Park International Circuit on 28th-30th May for the championships first of two double headers.
